Now this is what I call [‘Ilman Nafi’a]
Last weekend I had the chance to enjoy a good lunch and more importantly the company of a relative and his wife. He is an academic (field: civil engineering) attached to a local university, and will soon embark on a study on how to improve mobility in Masjidil Haram during hajj time. How cool is that! I’m so impressed. The research means he’ll be in Mekah during several hajj seasons. As a Malaysian Muslim, I’m proud to see our brains being picked by the Saudi government to improve the jemaah conditions during hajj seasons. And with a research like that, internal crises in the lines of ‘Is my work lillahi and for the betterment of the ummah?’ would be non-existent!
Ya Allah ya rabbi
Rabbi zidni ‘ilman nafi’a
Wa wafiqni ‘amalan maqbula
Wa wahabli rizqon wasi’a
Wa tub ‘alayya taubatan nasuha.
(Transliterating is not nice)
