Dakwah corner at a kopitiam

This story was shared by Kak Aliya in her blog Musings of a Muallaf.

Kopitiam Puteri Hang Li Poh, opposite SMK Bestari, Kulim (but will move to Pacific Megamall, Perai on 16 June) is owned by Haji Ibrahim Tan. Haji Ibrahim said that the kopitiam serves two purposes; one for Islamic dakwah and another to serve good Chinese Muslim food.

In the words of Kak Aliya, "On each table was a transparent photo frame which bears the number of the table, and printed stories from the hadith. You may read the stories while waiting for the food. At a corner of the kopitiam were two bookshelves with English reading materials on Islam. You may read them while having your meals or borrow them."

Do you know of any other restaurants (or public places) having some sort of dakwah corner?

This is such a great idea! I wish to have similar ones here @ my place too!

khadijah,
yes, it is a great idea. not just dakwah to non-muslims but also for muslims, given there's materials that can help to increase knowledge and understanding, and to serve as reminders.

I've seen in non-Muslims restaurants but this is a first for a Muslim. We should have more restaurants with this concept. :)
