Tiga Nota Yang Tidak Pelik

NOTA SATU
Ini pertama kali saya di’tag’ sebenarnya. Oleh Kak Raiyan, perihal ‘6 weird things about me’. Rasanya benda-benda yang terfikirkan dek saya sehari dua ni bukanlah pelik-pelik sangat pun, sekadar trivia. Let’s see…

  1. I love and enjoy food, and get hungry quickly, but don’t put on weight easily. Bab enjoy food tu agak ‘berbahaya’, sebab menghampiri sifat mazmumah hubbut-to’am, isyh kena control nih.. Bab don’t put on weight easily pulak, ada orang kata metabolisme rate tinggi lah. My KakLong kata, makanan ‘lalu’ je, penghadaman tak berapa bagus. I’ve read somewhere those yang ada masalah pernafasan (asthma, tapi dah kurang sebenarnya), use up quite a big portion of their enery for breathing (25%) compared to orang lain (10%). Apa-apa pun, ramai yang beri nasihat: Beware! Nanti bila dah anak ketiga, atau nak masuk 40, cepatlah naik badan tu!

  2. Saya suka bau my one-year-old son, especially bila dia baru bangun tidur pagi. Mesti cuddle dia and cium leher masham dia. Eii bushuk, some people would say, but I love it somehow – ada harumnya. Maybe sebab dia kecik lagi kot… Nanti bila dah bertambah besar maybe dah kurang harum kot?

  3. Saya lambat ‘pandai’ telan pil. Until I’m in early 20s, I still took liquid medicine! Ingat tak Aida (if you’re reading this) waktu kita di Misri, you warned me to be cautious of the closeby wall behind when I wanted to ‘attempt’ to swallow some pills, because you know I’d have to dongak-dongak kepala, karang terantuk pulak hahaha. Tapi sekarang dah pandai, no problemo… thanks to MDH who taught me the trick: “you have to let the pills float in the water, pastu baru telan, let it flow”.

  4. I am ticklish, melebihi tahap normal. Susah betul nak berurut, sebab kena tahan nak gelak. It’s also my KakLong’s ‘weapon’ to attack me masa kitorang kecik-kecik dulu (sekarang dah tak buat lah eh, dah besar panjang).

  5. I tend to romanticize and dramatize the ordinary things I see. For example, when I see pakcik or makcik yang tua buat kerja yang susah-susah contohnya kutip sampah for a living, beyond the natural ‘kesiannya dia’, I would imagine some prodigal grown-up son or daughter yang selalu mintak duit dari dia. Once, I saw a lori polis bawak prisoners on the road, whom I saw peering through the grills. I imagined him appreciating the view and fresh air sebab sebelum tu duduk dalam jail dah lama. These happen in a split of a second je in my mind, and don’t worry, I can fully distinguish between the reality and my imagination.

  6. Saya susah nak visualize concept or formula, dan lebih cepat comprehend bila nampak dengan mata (biasa tak dengan theory some people learn by three methods: audio, visual, kinetic?). Kalau nak articulate atau terangkan something pun lebih suka sketch with pencil and paper. For example, kalau ada orang nak terangkan direction pergi someplace cuma dengan ‘bila nampak bangunan A kona kanan, lepas tiga trafficlight, kona kiri etc’ boleh sesat saya agaknya. Lebih prefer peta yang saya boleh nampak.

Itu sahaja… tapi kalau saya tak tag orang lain takpe, kan? Alasan: I don’t think I have 6 people to tag, haha. I did ask my non-blogging DH however, and these are what he said:

1. Tagged? What’s that?
2. Tak weird pun, the things in your list.
3. Hmm, I can’t think of 6 weird things about me.
4. Can you?
5. Why 6? What a weird number to pick.
6. Why do people want to know the weird things about other people anyway?

I guess his standard of ‘weirdness’ agak tinggi – kena betul-betul pelik baru boleh pass off sebagai ‘weird’!

NOTA DUA

NOTA TIGA
I originally didn’t intend to say anything with regards to one of the latest happenings in our country namely SPM results, but I had enjoyed reading (and agreed with most of the points in) the letter to SPM students written by Brian Yap in NST. Thanks to Nik Nazmi (not that he’ll read this), who provided the link in one of his recent posts. I’m also amused to read (for the first time) the term ‘inflation’ being used for SPM results by one of the commenters.
