PRU
Can you feel the heat in the air? Wah - hangat! Are you excited? I am!
Schools oh schools 1
"So did they make you president of the Computer Club this year?" I asked my brother #6 (I'm #2 by the way). He's really into computers and is really good, too. Last year he was the treasurer. "No. I'm no longer in the club. This year they allocate clubs by classes." "What?" "Yes. Only those in Form 1A, 3B, and 5C got to be in the Computer Club. I have to join the History Club." What kind of policy is this? One that will ensure each club has equal number of members? The teachers still ask him to help fix the computer problems, though.
School oh schools 2
My youngest brother #8 faces a dilemma every Friday. Either go to Friday prayer and be late for school (sesi petang) even if he goes straight from the mosque, or miss the prayer. My parents had succumbed to his plea to skip Friday prayers because he couldn't stand being scolded by his teacher. He may be 8, but this is sending a very wrong message! Why can't the school start later to accommodate Friday prayers?
Fresh names
Several shops near the new Petr0nas station in Seksyen 3 Tambahan BBB have refreshingly simple names:
-Kuali (a restaurant)
-Tukang (a hardware & DIY shop)
-Cuci@Dobi
-Beras House
-Meat Shop
The Truth About Food
I watched an interesting episode of Oprah (rerun) recently, where Dr Mehmet Oz was invited as a guest. He was there to speak about a "scientific televised investigation—delivering for the first time real provable evidence of just how your diet influences every area of your life". The project is a collaboration between BBC and Discovery Health. Read more about it here and here. I went to the BBC link and read, among others, that "the theory that too much sugar makes children hyperactive doesn’t stand up to the tests". I hope they'll air the series here soon, but here's a few points being discussed during the Oprah show. We already know them probably, but reminders are always good!
- Calcium helps to reduce fat absorption by combining with the fat to form 'soap'. (Yeay, I've always loved milk and cheese!)
- Eating raw vegetable and fruits will reduce our cholestrol level and high boold pressure.
- Tomatoes help our skin to minimise the negative impact of sun rays.
- The omega 3 contains in fatty acid in oily fish (for example sardines, tuna) can help to reduce stress.
Positive Parenting
My sis had introduced to to a very informative quarterly parenting education material Positive Parenting, a collaboration between Malaysia Paediatrics Association and a few other societies (ie it's not profit-oriented). You can read or download the content from the website, or if you prefer to read hardcopy magazine (like me) you can subscribe and pay RM12/annum for the administrative and postage costs.
Munief & Fifa
"Main," Munief adressed his little sister. He started putting several 'spongy' alphabets and numbers (you know which ones that I mean, right?) on Fifa's tummy. He picked the number 3 and flashed it in front of her face. "Nam," he said. Ummi laughed. "Bukan enam. Tiga, sayang."

SoS1: It's the lazy policy. And I wouldn't be surprised if the class teacher is also the club advisor.
SoS2: That's "negara Islam" for you. Even UK schools can be more considerate.
h, remember the societies fair for freshies masa kat uni dulu? the slogan was (something like): "not interested in any of the existing clubs? start one!" it should be about what the students are interested in..
hehe, mcm2 kan..so Mynie, selamat mengundi ya!comel je dua beradik tu..=P
thanks to islam hadhari by the PM! jom kita migrate pi aussie jom! at least kalau kat oversea takde la sakit hati sangat kan?
btw, have a great life dear!
hehehe.. kalau sakit hati dgn pemerintah nak buat camne yer? padahal dah pangkah yang satu lagi menang. tapi dah tak telus.. i think my name has been blacklisted from SPR.. so tugas mengundi jatuh kat suami sebab dia baru tukar alamat kat IC.. hikhik
afi,
mmg comel :) (err boleh ke cakap anak sendiri comel ;p)
anamiraa,
akak pergi aussie, saya nak gi uk la... heheh biasalah - biased :)
aida,
eh takkan lah ada such thing as blacklisted? this time round dah tak sempat, tp next time kena fight for your rights tau.. rugi satu undi..
mynie, jangan cakap. last election my mom's and dad's name was blacklisted sebab pangkah parti lagi satu. sian my mom, nama dia, check check sekejap bertukar-tukar tempat pengundian.
siap complaint kat org SPR kenapa jadi camni. masa tu, aini and me lepas sebab first time mengundi. so this time tak sure.. lagipun before kerusi tu jatuh ke BN, PAS menang kawasan kami. so awal2 dia dah blacklist nama pengundi PAS. mynie mesti tak percaya kan? but that was what happened back in year 2004 election
aida, election 2004 lepas memang so..so.. so penipu besaq. suka2 hati buat pecah sempadan. ye la..depa punya SPR tu.
mynie,
dah besar anak dara awak.montel n comel!kiss utk dia ek, utk munief skali tau :)
aida,
area korg mmg bikin 'diorg' nervous.. tp tak tau pulak senang2 je diorg tak kasi org ngundi.. patutlah berderu2 org tuntut 'bersih'..
raiyan,
kat sini pun dia ada main pecah2 sempadan jugak masa 2004. this year tak taulah cmn..
fifa lahir agak ringan (2.9kg) tp bila dah keluar cepat je tambah berat hehe..
mynie, eh husband sambung kat utara tu UUM ker? jauh!
mynie, fasal maid tu, yes i'm also thinking part time (dtg pagi, balik petang is okay) ataupun weekend datang rumah untuk tolong bersihkan rumah, pun okay. setakat ni, Alhamdulillah walaupun penat, masih boleh cope. punyalah tak nak full time maid, sampai suami beriya-iya nak ambil dulu, cakap kat dia, 'kalau nak ambil juga, memang saya takkan sambung master' because definitely i won't like he being with her at home, walaupun budak² ada.
tak percaya suami? bukan tak percaya, tapi apa salahnya untuk memastikan rumahtangga tidak jadi apa²
selamat mengundi yer! :)
madhiah12,
nasib baik tak sejauh uum. dekat sikit pd tu - usm..
yup. i've read a q&a, ada ustaz ni jawab tak boleh suami di rumah dgn maid kalau kita takde, walaupun anak2 ada, sbb anak2 kira kecil lagi..
ini tak berkaitan ngan post PRU.. tapi berkiatan ngan soalan mynie nak dapat letdown.. hikhik ( i post it here in case mynie tak baca komen kat my blog)
mynie, kalau guna mini-e, masa nak dpt letdown:
1) baca buku / tengok internet.. hikhik
2) minum air sambil mengepam
3) nak dpt second letdown, tarik-tarik mini-e tu kat puting. kalau boleh tarik menyenget sambil bayangkan baby tgh menghisap. insya Allah ada second letdown (tips no 3 ni dapat dari forumer bernama kak Amiizaa, dia mmg pakai mini-e jer, tapi tiap kali perah masa dia naik kerja boleh yield 15 oz! kalau takde letdown, dia cakap, dia dapat 8 oz AJE!)
many thanks for the advice. will try :) kalau dpt first letdown dah syukur dah, kalau dpt second letdown tu kira bonus la...
