V or Y?
In my area, there are two shops to visit to get baking supplies: V and Y, which are only a few shops apart. V came into the picture later than Y, but since V is owned by by our fellow 'friends', I skipped Y to shop at V. But.. things are more expensive at V, by as much as 20%. And.. there are quite a number of things not available at V. What I did for quite some time is to go to V first, and if there's something that I need not available there, I would go to Y next. Unfortunately, the customer service at V can use some improvement, too. Whenever I asked someone from the shop to show me where a certain item is, he/she would just say 'Oh, it's over there' (where?) or 'behind that shelf' (where?) etc. In Y, the assistant would usually take me direct to the item. Yesterday, for the first time after more than a year, I went to Y. (Sorry Mektwain, I know you are a loyal customer of V). How leh? I do feel guilty, but...

I knew where on earth are V + Y :P.
Yup, agree.. V is much expensive to Y + the customer service also not as good as Y. And, Y has a lot to offer compared to V.
Hmm.. I think V should do something about the issues, or else they will lose their potential customers (like me :P).
By the way, the cake looks yummilicious..!! Bleh share recipes? :P

thanks for echoing my sentiments.. kot2lah my experiences were isolated cases.. now i know it's not. so, do you go to V or Y now?
cake tu nampak cantik sbb topping tu je heheh.. i used allrecipes.com punya ganache (lebih yg few weeks ago punya): 250ml cream, 250g cooking choc, 1 tbsp butter.. pastu tabur almond bits. cake dia i used mamafami's brownie recipe (list bwh category 'cakes').

roti tu pun ambik mamafami punya jugak. entry 5 mar 2008. i like it as it is (roti kosong je), but MHH and brothers think it's too plain. next time kena letak raisins ke sausage ke filling mcm cheese ke..

resipi semua cilok dlm internet. zaman skrg so convenient, thanks to mamafami n other people like her. taklah rasa guilty kalau beli buku mahal2, pastu tak terbuat hehe..
Really? I've only been to V (unless it's actually Y) and the service isn't like that at all. If free, the salesperson will show me exactly where the things are. The only problem is the salesperson, usually, is also the cashier.

oh gitu.. hmm what to do. we keep on 'trying' lah kot.. maybe some of the shortfalls tu disebabkan not enough volume to meet the economics of scale..
