Munief and his ‘Kapal Terbang’
Yes, it’s ‘kapal terbang’ for now and not aeroplane or plane yet. Last week, I flew with my two kids alone for the first time. I was worried if I could manage both of them by myself, but Alhamdulillah the trip went very well, pleasant in fact. Thanks to the kids behaving well, a handy baby carrier, some M&Ms (great for learning colours) and helpful aircrews. It was just a short haul flight anyway, I probably wouldn’t fare as well otherwise.
In fact, my most difficult challenge was perhaps getting Munief to get moving. He was fascinated by almost everything and wanted to observe them for so long! For example the conveyor belt that carries the luggage during check-in and after arrival, even the watches displayed in glass shelves in the stores, and of course the planes. It wasn’t the first time he travelled by air, but I guess now he’s very much more aware, keen, and curious, compared to last times when he was still a baby.
Waiting at the gate, Munief was watching the plane being prepared for take-off. He probably didn’t understand much of my rambles about the food van, refuelling, loading of luggage, etc. But I did take some interesting photos, maybe I could print them in 5R or 8R size, and paste some labels, and put them up on the wall in the library-cum-playroom later when we have one (a library-cum-playroom that is ;p).

dali, afiefah was 5+ months when we took this flight (me alone with the kids). earlier she already flew when she was 3+ months tp masa tu ada my mum and aunt. ok je.
i think bangkok shld be okay, just a bit over 2 hours.. besides, you can request for tempat duduk depan sekali, pastu dia boleh sangkut bassinet (provided by airline) kat dinding.
anyway, happy travelling!
