Lesson for today
Don't leave crayons in the car and under the sunlight. They melt and make a mess! I wonder what is the melting temperature for crayons. [google google google] = about 50 degrees Celcius. No wonder...
But nevermind that. Even more seriously, don't leave your cellphone in your car! I got a circulation from my department's safety officer about an incident where a cellphone exploded (read more below). It happened in Saudi, where it's probably much hotter than here. But still, let's not take chances shall we?
An incident of a mobile phone explosion inside a vehicle cabin was reported in Saudi Arabia lately.
Incident Background
Mobile phone units were left inside the car compartment while the vehicle was parked in an open area. One of the phones had its power “on”. It was close to midday. Reportedly after an hour in the park, one of the mobile phones exploded.
What Went Wrong?
Obviously the mobile phone’s battery is the only component as the legitimate source of stored energy.
The solar heat obviously pressurized the car’s closed cabin. What triggers the explosion could be the overheated battery caused by extremely high temperature magnified by the windshield (glass) and the sealed (unventilated) vehicle cabin.
Lessons Learned
Better not to leave mobile phones in car compartment especially when the vehicle is exposed to direct sunlight for a prolonged period.

Krayon tu, if cair, boleh cuci xpe, kalau cair terus melekat, huwaa..
dear all,
yes, krayon tu munief punya n cair in my lil kelisa huhu.. pastu dia dah agak melekat, sampai sekrg ummi dia yg malas belum cuci/scrape lagi hehe ;p
but the interesting thing i found while googling for 'melting crayon' is the idea to use stubs of crayon for art & craft, by shaving them into small pieces, then arrange or tabur ikut corak that we want, on paper or glass etc, then put in microwave (takut le pulak) or leave under hot sun for them to melt...
