Munief moments

One day in a car journey, Munief pointed out of the window, "Apa tu?"
"Pencawang eletrik" I answered.
"Cawang letik. Apa?"
"Pencawang elektrik ni tolong hantar elektrik through kabel-kabel ni pergi kat rumah-rumah ke, kilang ke." (We were passing by an industrial area)
"Letik apa?"
"Elektrik ni power yang kita pakai kat rumah kalau nak bukak lampu, bukak kipas, tengok tv, masak nasi, macam-macam."
So the whats and whys have begun aye? Bring them on!

I was reading a book together with Munief.
"Ni Tigger," I pointed to a character.
"Tiga, empat, enam, dua," Munief responded.
I laughed. "Bukan nombor 'tiga'. Yang ni Tig-gerr, nama harimau ni."

In the same book, I pointed to Kanga who's sitting together with Roo.
"Ni ummi dia," I pointed to Kanga. I wanted to continue "Ni anak dia" but Munief intercepted sooner: "Ni Munief." He pointed to Roo.
I laughed. "Ok, that works as well."

I was picking up Munief's shape-sorter pieces and counting them one by one with Munief.
"Yang warna oren ada berapa, cukup tak? Satu, dua, tiga."
Munief picked up one orange-coloured cube and pretended to bite it.
"Amm.. makan oren," he grinned.
I laughed. "Buat lawak pulak anak Ummi ni. Kita makan buah oren. Yang ni warna oren."

We were having dinner when Munief asked me to refill his cup of water.
I reached my hand to take the cup from him, but he pulled the cup back.
He put forward the cup, so I tried for a second time, but again he pulled back.
"Munief nak air ke tak ni?" I asked, feeling a bit annoyed.
"Tangan kanan," Munief said.
Woops, my bad. "Eh betul betul. Tangan kanan," I admitted sheepishly, and used my nasi-covered right hand to hold the cup.

We walking in towards SACC one day when Munief spotted the huge helium balloon on top of the building.
"Munief nak belon tu!" he exclaimed.
"Eh, belon tu dia tak jual. Kita tak boleh ambik," I explained.
"Macam mana Munief nak ambik belon tu," he's still mulling over the presented situation.
"Munief, belon tu besar. Nanti terbang macam monyet dalam cerita George," more dissuasion from me.
"Munief nak panjat lah ambik," perhaps even more encouraged by my statement.
"Belon tu bukan kita punya, tak boleh ambik," I resorted back to my first reasoning.
Lucky for me, he forgot about the balloon as soon as we went inside SACC.

By the way, I'm taking some time off this week for several reasons, one of which is to potty train Munief. So far, the score is 4-4. Not that good, eh? Huhu.. any tips for me?
