The time is almost up!
Oh, how time flies! It’s a cliché, I know, but I’m feeling it now stronger than usual. In about two more weeks, my 3-month maternity leave will end, and I will be back at the office (insya-Allah). I have really really really enjoyed being at home all these weeks, and I will definitely miss all the privileges. Three months maternity leave makes sense, because babies start smiling and responding at about 8 weeks, which makes great rewards for mummies and enhances bonding time as well.
The only thing I regret, and it is my common regret, is that I feel that I haven’t done enough with the time I have had. I complained about not having any ‘projects’ to work on (a few proposals got rejected, and I didn’t get any editing assignment until last week) when in fact there are so many other things that I could have done on my own. Being under pressures of commitment and deadline are strong motivators to be productive. I definitely need to improve on my internal motivation and self-discipline - especially if I aspire to be self-employed!
Insya-Allah I will move to my own place soon, which means a busier time to set up a new home (almost from scratch) and no more sharing of chores with my siblings, so that’s another change to adapt to, in addition to one extra amanah - my baby Hasief. May Allah help and guide me in fulfilling my responsibilities and striving for my dreams!
